Join Us in Support of the
The Zdravets School For Handicapped
Children in Bansko is
home to 25 moderate to severally handicapped children in Bansko caring
for
children with congenial birth defects and handicaps to those
handicapped or
disabled by accident. As you may understand the required care and needs
of
these special children is an ongoing process that is lifelong in nature. We are asking for the
following types of donations for the
children or to help purchase required items deemed necessary for the
care and
improved life of the children... · Monetary donations (please
see below) · Children's Clothing from
toddler to teenage in size. Second-hand or new
will be accepted. · Children's Toys and play
items, plastic cars, stuff animals, etc. Please
ensure that the toys do not separate into small pieces. · Children's movies in DVD
format. · Any unused, older model
video game equipment and game cartridges. · Blankets, linen, etc. · Your time and your
children's time, however brief, to visit the school
on your next visit to Bansko and to come and interact with the children
there.
This is perhaps the most welcome and enjoyed gift you and your children
could
possibly give to these special children.
Wheelchair The most critical need at
this time is for a single child
with over 90% disability and who because of his condition requires a
special
wheel chair in order to be mobile. The
We've

it.
Dec 09With a lot of help from a lot of people we have managed to raise enough money to buy this wheel chair. This was delivered prior to Christmas 2009. We are delighted and a big thanks to all that helped and contributed. The
Bansko
Town
Hall
has
offered
to
put
in 500 BGN if the school could raise the balance1800 BGN. They now
have all
the money required and the wheelchair has been delivered and is making
an enormous differance to the young boy and his carers
With the money raised we have also been
able to buy each child a small Christmas present. We did this last year
and I know how welcomed this was by the children.
We have in the pot BGN 980 to
put towards our next fund raising venture for the children.

6th November 2009 - Bonfire Night - Dobrinishte
We very
much appreciate the unseen efforts of people that
have assisted in raising money for the Bonfire event and also all those
that
have made the burgers & sausages, the bread rolls and the
organising of the
bar, the fireworks, the actual bonfire and to the businesses around
Bansko who
offered to sell tickets for the event. Also Thanks to everyone who has
